Lake Keowee
Lake Keowee is an 18,500-acre man-made lake that provides access to fishing, boating, skiing, swimming, and enjoying the outdoors. If lakefront real estate is what you’re after, look no further than Keowee Keys. This master-planned community sits on the shore of the beautiful Lake Keowee and is known for its activities, events, and beautiful homes.
As for homes available, there is something for everyone. Within Keowee Keys, there are multiple smaller communities that cater toward specific lifestyles. You’ll find one of Upstate South Carolina’s best retirement communities here as well as an area popular with families with children. Most of the homes in Keowee Keys are situated on lots that are at least a quarter of an acre. If you’re willing to pay for it, you can find some homes on the lake with their own private docks. However, there are plenty of homes available for those with a more modest budget as well.
Lake Jocassee
If you’re up for the challenge, lakefront real estate on Lake Jocassee is hard to beat. The area is protected, so building and development are limited. While this makes for a spectacular place to live, getting your foot in the door can be quite tricky. Usually, only a handful of homes are available for sale on the shores of the 7,500 acre man-made reservoir. Lake Jocassee is known for being a beautiful alternative to Lake Keowee with excellent fishing opportunities.
Lake Hartwell
Lake Hartwell is a huge 56000-acre lake that crosses into Georgia. It’s a popular area for camping, fishing, hiking, and a great place to pick up some lakefront real estate. There is a home for everyone in the area surrounding Lake Hartwell. You can find multi-million dollar homes with stunning views and no HOA restrictions on Lake Hartwell, as well as condominiums and smaller homes. There are also plenty of new construction homes being built, which allow you to customize the floorplan and finishes to create your dream home.
