I lived down in Miami, FL., an area later to be called Cutler Bay. This is an area with direct ocean access into Biscayne Bay. I had a neighbor, named Jose. In the regular world, Jose and I didn’t have anything in common that would have ever come up to allow us to meet, much less get along. Polar opposites in every way – except food.
I used to fish all the time, and one day while unloading the boat Jose walked over and asked what I caught. I showed him some of the fish and he said he had a particular favorite he liked to eat. I gave it to him. This simple meeting led to 10+ years of sharing and caring between two neighbors. I miss Jose all the time and it isn’t every day that you get to make friends with neighbors like this.
So, why this story?
