The City of Fair Play
Located in the Northwest corner of South Carolina, Fair Play is located along Lake Hartwell in Oconee County (with a small portion in Anderson County). The town’s name, according to local tradition, stemmed from an onlooker witnessing a brawl between two pioneers and requesting that they “Play Fair”.
Fair Play’s main feature is Lake Hartwell. Lake Hartwell itself is a day-use recreational area, which happens to be one of the South East United States’ largest recreational areas. The Lake Hartwell State Park is located here and offers both visitors and residents access to:

Fair Play is a small town with a small population. It receives top ratings in both education and housing. While not known for a massive nightlife presence, it is home to great local eateries.
